FAQ

Setting Up a Florist Ecommerce Website with Florist Window

Below are answers to the questions we are most frequently asked by florists considering Florist Window.

How long have you been doing what you do?

We registered our first commercial domain on 23rd February 1998. Our original website, uksuperweb.co.uk, launched at midnight on 1st May that year.

Over time, UK Superweb evolved into Florist Window. Our first florist website launched in December 2009 and we have been supporting florists ever since. Find out more about Florist Window.

How long will it take for my new website to go live?

From the moment we receive your setup payment and completed form, we will usually have a first design ready within four weeks.

We work with you directly by phone and email, making adjustments until you are completely happy. Launch normally follows shortly after content is finalised.

Will my website work on phones?

Yes. All florist websites we create are fully mobile friendly and work across smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers.

I am a member of a relay company. Can I still use Florist Window?

Yes. Many of our clients are members of relay networks.

Florist Window provides you with your own direct website where you control your products, pricing and customer experience, alongside any relay memberships you may choose to keep.

Relay and network-based websites operate using a range of commercial and technical models, which can differ in how orders, payments and customer relationships are handled.

Are you a relay, wire, postal or letterbox flower company?

No. Florist Window is a specialist florist ecommerce platform built specifically for independent florists.

Our clients are real local florists who sell directly under their own brand and deliver their own flowers. Learn how the Direct Florist Network works.

Some florist websites operate through relay networks using different commercial models, while others are fully direct. We explain the differences clearly here: Florist Websites vs Relay Networks.

Understanding how these different website models operate can help florists make informed decisions about pricing control, payments and long-term independence. Read a clear comparison here.

Can I send national orders through Florist Window?

Yes. Florists can send orders to other Florist Window clients within the UK as part of our florist-to-florist network.

Orders remain direct between florists, with no commission and no third-party resale. Read more about the Florist Window network.

Do you charge commission on sales?

No. We never take a percentage of your sales.

You keep the full value of your orders, minus standard card processing fees. Florist Window is funded by a fixed monthly subscription.

Do you hold any of the money from my orders?

No. Payments are processed through your own payment gateway and paid directly into your bank account.

Is SEO included with Florist Window websites?

Yes. SEO is built into every Florist Window website as standard.

Our platform provides the technical structure search engines require, allowing florists to focus on products, occasions and local marketing.

Can I keep my existing domain name?

Yes. Your domain name always remains yours. We simply connect it to your Florist Window website.

Florist Window is a member of Nominet, the .uk domain registry. More about domain names.

What happens if I want to leave?

There is no long-term contract. Just give 30 days’ notice and we will help you transition smoothly.

 What is We Are Florists?

We Are Florists is a UK-wide consumer website that connects customers directly with real local florists.

Customers order from florists directly and participation is optional. Visit We Are Florists.

I don’t have my own flower photos. Can I still have an ecommerce website?

Yes. We offer a choice of product ranges you can use free of charge. You can update names, prices or remove items at any time. Over time, you can add your own photos or ask us to. We can also upload your full current range before launch. See our Florist Product Ranges.

Can I keep my current website design?

Often yes, as long as we have the designer’s permission. We can replicate your existing layout within the Florist Window platform so you keep the look while gaining modern ecommerce features.

My friend said they’d help me build a website. Is that a good idea?

It can seem appealing, but many florists lose months of sales this way. Florist Window provides a proven platform with a low setup fee, no long waits, and professional support. We’ve launched hundreds of florist websites successfully.

Why should I use Florist Window instead of a local web designer?

Most local designers build general-purpose websites and often charge higher upfront and ongoing maintenance fees. Florist Window websites are built specifically for florists, with ecommerce and SEO tools included from the start and supported long-term at a predictable cost. You are not charged for new features, and there are no add-on fees for plugin after plugin as your business grows. More about florist website design.

Can I update my website myself?

Yes. You can update products, prices, images and content at any time through your dashboard.

Can you guarantee top 10 Google rankings?

No one can guarantee rankings. However, Florist Window websites are built with strong SEO foundations and most florists achieve excellent visibility through structure, speed and ongoing support.

Do you offer exclusivity in my area?

No. We support all real local florists. At Florist Window, we build websites exclusively for independent florists. We do not promise top search engine rankings, and we do not work on an exclusive territory basis. Our mission is to help florists maintain a strong presence on both the traditional and digital high street, keeping control, customers, and profits with local businesses rather than middlemen or order-gathering platforms.

Can I have two websites for the same business?

Yes, if there is a valid reason such as separate services or audiences. For example, one site for bouquets and another for weddings. Duplicate websites selling the same products are not recommended.

Can two businesses use the same address on Google Maps?

Yes, if the services are different. However, Google may not index two florists at the same address offering identical services.

Does owning multiple domain names help SEO?

No. Redirected or parked domains do not improve rankings. Only domains with active, unique content are indexed. Owning variations can protect your brand but does not boost SEO.
